History & Mission
For almost 50 years, the Foundation has provided safe, decent, affordable housing for over 1,350 seniors and persons with disabilities in the community
In 1965, a social action group from the Santa Clara United Methodist Church recognized the need for affordable housing and services for low income seniors. This group went on to create the nonprofit organization, the Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation, Inc, (SCMRF). Although not affiliated with the Methodist Church, the Foundation’s name signifies its historical beginning.
The mission of the Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation is to provide innovative affordable housing and services to
low income seniors in Santa Clara County so people in this community can live their entire lives with safety, dignity and respect.
Liberty Tower
Liberty Tower, an 11-story high-rise, was constructed on the former Methodist Church site in Santa Clara and was opened to residents in 1973.
Wesley Manor
Five miles to the south in Campbell, a second 12-story high-rise facility, Wesley Manor opened in 1979 to provide additional housing for seniors and for persons with physical disabilities. At that time, the Board of Directors was increased to include representatives from the Campbell United Methodist Church, as well as from the community at large.
Meet Our Management Team
Liberty Tower and Wesley Manor are fortunate to have a professional and caring staff. Experienced and dedicated members of the Management Team work together to provide an exceptional living environment to its thriving communities.
