Upgrades and Plant Improvements
Besides the major renovation of 126 bathrooms with new walk-in showers, Wesley Manor has also received permanent exterior awning replacements, enhancing the main entrance, dining room patio and staff ground floor units. Additionally, kitchen cabinets were replaced in 26 Wesley Manor resident units and new vinyl flooring continues to be installed. A new chiller was also lifted by crane to the Wesley Manor rooftop.
Newly Acquired Property
For more than twenty years, the Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation has been actively seeking to build additional affordable housing in Santa Clara County. In January 2022, the Foundation announced their acquisition of a 1.2-acre property located at 60 West Hamilton Avenue
Newest Couple at Wesley Manor
Not all of our residents at Wesley Manor are human. Some are of the “canine” variety and hold a special place in the hearts of residents and staff. One such furry friend was the hard working service dog Lucky. After seven years of faithful service to his Wesley Manor partner, Kathleen Scherschel, Lucky retired and returned to his original host family. Kathleen and staff celebrated his retirement on the deck at Wesley Manor. The sweet-tempered Lab was showered with appreciation treats for his well-deserved journey home.
